Scuola Agreements:

Scuola Program Agreement, Damage Liabilities, Liability Waiver, and Media Release

  1. Program Agreement
    • I acknowledge and understand that despite the best efforts, diligence, and common sense employed by Scuola’s coaches, teachers, and organizers in conducting classes, unforeseen accidents may occur that are generally beyond their control.
    • I hereby fully waive all rights on my behalf and on behalf of any party that could advance a claim under section 61 of the Family Law Act, as well as the minor child. This waiver is a condition of and consideration for, their enrolment in the Scuola classes.
    • I recognize my responsibility to demonstrate respect for others and for the equipment provided during classes (as outlined in the Scuola Damage Liabilities). I will use respectful language towards students, coaches, teachers, or anyone else associated with the class and will abstain from bullying, harassment, or any form of violent behaviour.
    • As a student, I acknowledge the following:
      • Victory is not the ultimate goal. The primary objectives are enjoyment, learning, cultivating friendships, and doing my best.
      • I will control my temper and refrain from engaging in violent behaviours.
      • I will always respect my peers, coaches, and organizers.
    • As a parent, I acknowledge the following:
      • I will not compel my child or myself to participate in classes against their will.
      • I will encourage my child or myself to resort to discussion as a means of problem-solving, rather than violence.
      • I will emphasize to my child or myself that effort and doing their best are more important than the outcome.
      • I will refrain from shouting at my child or myself, other students, or members of the Scuola team and will not engage in verbal or physical abuse.
      • I will demonstrate support for my child or myself and other students by applauding good performances and behaviours.
      • I will contact my Scuola teacher or coach if an issue arises, no sooner than 24 hours after the incident.
      • I will express my appreciation for Scuola team members who dedicate their time to my child.
      • Scuola does not promise anything as an outcome of the classes.
  2. Damage Liabilities
    • I acknowledge and accept that I am financially responsible for any equipment that I or my child damage. If any equipment is broken, I must pay for it in full or legal actions will be made.
    • I will refrain from handling items that do not belong to Scuola or myself.
    • I understand that if my child or I cause damage, I am obligated to pay in full using Canadian currency.
    • I acknowledge that damages could incur significant costs, and I will handle equipment with care and respect.
  3. Liability Waiver
    • Recognizing that we are in a public space, I hereby fully waive all rights to hold Scuola accountable for any injuries that occur.
    • Although usually unintentional, Scuola is not responsible and is not accountable for any injuries that are to happen to any individual (Scuola team member, parents, child, etc.)
  4. Media Release
    • I permit and consent to Scuola publishing images and videos of my child and me on Scuola’s media pages and/or accounts, including the Scuola Instagram account (@scuola.ottawa), the Scuola website (https://scuola.ca), brochures, films, broadcasts, and other forms of digital, printed, or audio media.
    • I understand that these media may be used by Scuola, Scuola team members, Scuola authorized representatives, and Scuola sponsors for promotional purposes.
    • I waive any rights to make allegations and claims against Scuola concerning privacy issues.
    • I allow third parties that Scuola partners with (i.e. FIRST, Ottawa 67s) to publish images and videos of my child and me (
  5. Travelling with Scuola
  • I understand that travelling with Scuola is an additional fee not included in team fees, registration fees, etc. Scuola is not responsible for hotels and lodging, food, souvenirs, etc.
  • Scuola is not responsible for any forms of travel but can provide them.
  • I understand that I must bring all the appropriate equipment for travelling. If I do not, I will buy them at my own expense.

6. Volunteering

  • I understand that any work with Scuola will be considered volunteering unless stated otherwise. Other documents will be present for paid work.

Code of Ethics and Conduct

CODE OF ETHICS AND CONDUCT

1. Integrity and Honesty

Employees and members of our organization will act with integrity and honesty in all professional and business relationships. We will not engage in deceptive practices or knowingly provide false or misleading information.

2. Respect and Fairness

We are committed to treating all individuals with respect and fairness, regardless of their position, background, or beliefs. Discrimination, harassment, and any form of disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

3. Confidentiality

Employees and members shall maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information entrusted to them by the organization or its clients. We will not disclose confidential information to unauthorized parties.

4. Conflict of Interest

We will avoid conflicts of interest and fully disclose any personal or financial interests that could compromise our objectivity, impartiality, or ability to act in the best interest of the organization.

5. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

Employees and members are expected to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Any illegal activities or violations of regulations will not be tolerated.

6. Professional Development

We are committed to continuous learning and professional development. Employees and members will strive to enhance their skills and knowledge to contribute positively to the organization.

7. Environmental Responsibility

We will consider the environmental impact of our activities and make efforts to minimize our ecological footprint. Sustainability and responsible resource management are integral to our business practices.

8. Social Responsibility

Our organization is committed to being a responsible and contributing member of society. We will actively engage in socially responsible initiatives and support community well-being.

9. Reporting Violations

Employees and members have a responsibility to report any observed violations of this code of ethics and conduct. Reports can be made to [designated person or department] without fear of retaliation.

10. Accountability

Violations of this code will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, which may include warnings, suspension, termination, or legal action, as deemed necessary.

Governing Laws

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed following the laws of Canada and, to the extent applicable, the laws of the Province of Ontario, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the federal or provincial courts located within the jurisdiction of the Province of Ontario, and the parties hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of these courts.
